Today, we are proud to officially welcome West Indian Traders Limited in our family of listed companies as the fifth company to be listed on the TTSE SME Market, following the successful completion of its Initial Public Offering of 5,062,500 ordinary shares at an offer price of TT$2.00 per share.
At the TTSE, our commitment has been to provide a platform for companies to grow, investors to partake in that growth and the country’s economic development. Each new listing represents another step forward in the development of our SME Market and reinforces the growing confidence that businesses have in the capital market as a practical avenue for raising long-term equity capital. It also demonstrates that companies of varying sizes and across diverse industries can successfully access the public market to support their continued growth while strengthening transparency, governance and long-term sustainability.
The TTSE SME Market was established to provide ambitious small and medium-sized enterprises with an accessible pathway to public listing. Beyond providing access to capital, it enables companies to enhance their corporate profile, strengthen governance and position themselves for future growth. As we welcome our fifth SME listing today, we continue to see encouraging momentum and increasing awareness of the opportunities available through this market.
Today’s listing is also significant as it further broadens the sector representation of the TTSE SME Market. West Indian Traders Limited, operating within Trinidad and Tobago’s wholesale distribution and fast-moving consumer goods sector, expands the diversity of businesses represented on the Exchange and provides investors with another opportunity to participate in the growth of an established local enterprise. For us, a diverse market is a stronger market, offering investors greater choice while supporting businesses across a broad cross-section of our economy.
At the TTSE, we remain committed to creating an environment where businesses of every size can access capital, investors can participate in wealth creation, and our capital market continues to support national economic development. The continued growth of the TTSE SME Market is an important part of that commitment, and we look forward to welcoming many more companies to this platform in the years ahead.
I would like to acknowledge NCB Merchant Bank (Trinidad and Tobago) Limited for serving as Lead Broker and Underwriter on this transaction, together with the Trinidad and Tobago Central Depository Limited, which acted as Registrar and Transfer Agent. I also extend my appreciation to everyone whose dedication and collaboration contributed to today’s successful listing.
To the Board of Directors, Management, employees and shareholders of West Indian Traders Limited, congratulations on this important achievement. We thank you for placing your confidence in the TTSE SME Market and look forward to supporting your continued journey as a publicly listed company.
On behalf of the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange Limited, I extend our sincere congratulations to West Indian Traders Limited and wish you every success in this exciting new chapter.
